April 24, 2013 by Tony Sabanos

As health care costs continue to rise and our nation becomes increasingly more unhealthy, employers will be changing some of the ways that they hire new personnel. Many companies will start looking for individuals who not only fit all the requirements of the job, but also maintain a healthy lifestyle and have done so for many years. Individuals who smoke, binge drink, and fail to eat properly will soon have these things counted against them when competing for a job in this economy. As we move towards a universal health care plan for all, the cost to employers and employees is going to increase … [Read more...] about Binge drinking in college may pose serious health risks later in life

How Exercise May Offset Some of Alcohol’s Damage?

April 17, 2013 by Tony Sabanos

Regular exercise may counteract some of the brain-damaging effects of drinking alcohol, early results from a new study suggest. This is a significant amount of time that we are inactive throughout our entire life. It is no wonder that as Americans, our obesity numbers continue to rise because of lack of activity and high stress levels. Several products have entered the marketplace to help combat our exponentially increasing health care costs. There are … [Read more...] about Sit Up Straight. Your Back Thanks You.

Crunch your way to a flat stomach?

March 22, 2013 by Tony Sabanos

I overheard a woman at the gym the other day say she was going to get on the decline bench and work on her obliques. I was in the middle of a session, so I could not help her out, but that comment is commonly made about a variety of abdominal exercises. She truly thought that by performing several sets of obliques that she could spot reduce the fat on her stomach. There are quite a few misconceptions about training your abdominals and the ability to directly change your physique by performing certain exercises. I'd like to clear up a few of the things I have heard over the years I have been in … [Read more...] about Crunch your way to a flat stomach?
