
We are officially in the glorious year of 2021 and our world is fighting an invisible virus that attacks people’s immune system. You would think we are talking about the latest movie to hit the theatre, however unfortunately we are living the real thing. As any virus that attacks the immune system, the stronger your immune system is the better chance you have of either not contracting it or fighting it off successfully with little to no symptoms. Most people do not do enough to take care of their mind and body. They resort to poor choices/habits such as eating poorly, drinking, abusing drugs, and binge watching television which can lead to lack of sleep. The body is like a car and if you don’t take care of it with scheduled maintenance it will fail you when you need it most. Here are some great ways to enhance you immune system and improve your quality of life.
- Limit your screen activity via phone, computer, and television. This seems simple enough but yet many people are glued to their devices. With all the chaos going on in the news it can be pretty depressing. All the more reason to choose people and things that enhance your happiness not drain it. If you are having trouble sleeping try turning off you electronic devices an hour earlier. Do things like meditate, yoga, read a book or magazine, and/or talk to your family.
- Make sound nutritional choices. This seems like common sense but most people when they are depressed, unhappy, and unmotivated choose things that taste good but are not good for them. You should eat 5 to 6 small meals a day. Drink at least 6 to 8 bottles of water a day. Consume lots of unprocessed foods and fruits and vegetables. Limit alcohol and high carbohydrate meals.
- Consider adding supplements to your nutrition protocol. As with anything consult your physician prior to doing so, however they can add extra protection and boost your immune system. Some supplements to consider Vitamin D3, Vitamin C, Elderberry, Echinacea, and Vitamin B50.
- Exercise on a regular basis. If you are having trouble with motivation, hire a QUALIFIED Personal Trainer. Do your research before you hire anyone. Make sure you read reviews, check out their website, talk to other people in your community who may know the individual. Exercise should be a consistent thing, there are many days you don’t feel like it but everyone feels better after the fact.
