July 24, 2012 by Tony Sabanos

With the start of the 2012 Olympics today, we thought it would be a great idea to implement similar principles into our Corporate Wellness Initiative for WORLD electronics. This challenge is designed to incorporate teamwork, motivation, inspiration, and a healthier lifestyle all rolled into one challenge. This challenge will run for 6 weeks and is a team-based challenge. After the initial sign-up, team captains are assigned and then a draft is held to determine who will be on each team. The teams will have a country name just like the Olympics and each team will compete over the next 6 weeks in a pedometer based challenge. One person per team per week will be solely responsible for the pedometer and number of steps accumulated for that week.

The other members of the team can accumulate one additional point per week if they attend one class. If the person attends more than one class they will still only receive one point. That means a team can accumulate one point per member per week. The challenge will start Friday the 27th of July and will conclude Friday the 7th of September. Each person is responsible for the pedometer, so if you lose it you must replace the pedometer at your own expense. The team with the most points will end of the winner. Each team will receive a point per mile sheet that explains the point process. Team captains it is your job to inspire and motivate your team to the finish line. Stay on top of your team to take as many steps as possible throughout the day and by whatever means you need to do so. If that means you park farther away from the building and walk on your lunch breaks than by all means do so. We would like to wish everyone in the challenge the best of luck and hope that everyone has some fun in the process.
