Paleo Diet: New Industry Idea or Should it be left in the Stoneage?

The Paleo diet has become one of the new schools of thought when it comes to nutrition. The thought process is that if we eat like our ancestors did 10,000 plus years ago, that we will be healthier, lose weight and prevent disease. The basics to this program are pretty simple, "If cavemen didn't eat it then you shouldn't either" says Academy Spokesperson, Jim White, RD, ACSM/HFS. Obesity: Our Children’s problem

As our nation's obesity numbers continue to rise among adults, they are not the only ones suffering. Our children are suffering from astronomical obesity numbers as well as a substantial increase in juvenile diabetes. The school system has decided to reduce the amount of physical activity by decreasing the amount of gym classes available in a week due to time constraints.
